Suspended in the American Air Museum at Duxford is F-100D Super Sabre (54-2165). Delivered to the USAF in May 1956 this aircraft initially served with the 493rd Tactical Fighter Squadron, 48th Fighter Wings at  Chaumont, France. In March 1959, it transferred to the French Air Force and joined Escadron 1/3 at Rhiems before spending the following ten years with Escadron 2/3 at Toul. Arriving at RAF Sculthorpe in 1975, the F-100D was given to the Imperial War Museum on permanent loan and arrived at Duxford in 1975. I can remember it being displayed for many years in the colours of Armee de l'Air prior to restoration in the early 1990's. It is now displayed in the colours of 352nd Tactical Fight Squadron, 35th Tactical Fighter Wing during the Vietnam conflict.
