McDonnell Douglas F-15A Eagle (76-0020) stands guard outside the American Air Museum at Duxford. Planned fin the late 1960's, the F15 Eagle first flew in the early 1970's. This aircraft was originally built in 1976 and was delivered to the 36th Tactical Fighter Wing at Bitburg AFB, Germany in July 1977. From December 1981 it served with the 60th Tactical Fighter Squadron at Eglin AFB, Florida before joining the Air National guard in January 1988. It was stored at Davis-Monthan AFB, Arizona from October 1983 before arriving at Duxford in 2001.
