Grumman F7F-2N Tigercat (G-RUMT) at Duxford - Click for Full Image

Grumman F7F-2N Tigercat (G-RUMT) on the flightline before the Fying Legends 2002 display at Duxford. This is the only flying Tigercat outside the USA and was built in mid 1945 for the US Marine Corps but saw little service. Following a period of storage, it was used as a forest fire-fighter in California for a number of years with the registration N6178C. However, by the middle of the 1980's it was no longer in use. Flown over the United States and the Atlantic to Duxford, it is now painted in US Navy Colours and is operated by the Fighter Collection.
